8.2.2 Access control

Access control has to do with user authorizations. Especially dial-in via telephone lines is a serious vulnerability to network systems. Security controls consist of dial-back facilities and differentiated access rights depending on the location from which the host is being accessed (by using a firewall for instance). The host in itself can have an access control system in place as well (userid-password combinations, capabilities,...)
