2. An adaptive security system framework

Modular building blocks have the advantage that implementation details can be hidden from the applications requesting services from the module. The modules can be linked through interfaces that accept predefined sets of parameters. The aim is to reach maximum coherency within the building blocks while constraining dependency between the components.

Initially the various components that constitute the framework are described. This discussion progresses to the ways these components work together to create an adaptive security management system (ASMS).
